Chancellor’s Award

The Chancellor’s Award is comprised of two categories and grants a prize of $1000 to the recipient in each category. The Emerging Leader Award is given to a staff member in an early to mid-career administrative or service role, and the Influential Leader Award is given to a staff member in a more senior administrative role.

Excellence Through Innovation Award

The Excellence Through Innovation Award celebrates the significant efforts of individuals and teams to advance the university’s strategic objectives and provide an opportunity to share these best practices across the University. Call for nominations are held each spring with the awards reception held at the President’s home.

Green Ribbon Award

The Green Ribbon Award recognizes outstanding contributions of our campus community members, as well as university partners, who have made our campus ‘greener’. As individuals, groups, departments or business partners, these green leaders have contributed to a sustainable culture on campus, and inspire others to adopt environmentally-conscious behaviours.

Staff, faculty, students, external partners

Simcoe Hall Vice-Presidential (SHVP) Staff Award

The Simcoe Hall Vice-Presidential Staff Award celebrates outstanding staff members who have made contributions to their Division or to the broader University ‘above and beyond’ their job description.

Eligibility:
Administrative Staff from specific divisions.

Carolyn Tuohy Impact on Public Policy Award

The Carolyn Tuohy Impact on Public Policy Award recognizes excellence in teaching, research and the impact of scholarship on public policy.

Northrop Frye Award

The Northrop Frye Award is given to a faculty member, Department or Division, recognizing distinguished achievements in linking teaching and research.

Vivek Goel Faculty Citizenship Award

The Vivek Goel Faculty Citizenship Award is given to a faculty member who has served the university with distinction in multiple leadership capacities including committees, governance bodies and external organizations complementary to the university’s academic mission.

Joan E. Foley Quality of Student Experience Award

The Joan E. Foley Quality of Student Experience Award is given to a student, alumnus/a, administrative staff or faculty member who has made a significant contribution to improving the quality of academic or extra-curricular student life on campus.

Ludwik and Estelle Jus Memorial Human Rights Prize

The Ludwik and Estelle Jus Memorial Human Rights Prize recognizes positive and lasting contributions to education and action in the fight against discrimination. The award is presented to a faculty, staff or student member of the University who has made a positive and lasting contribution in one or more of these areas: education and action against discrimination; supporting the University’s mission to realize an exemplary degree of equity and diversity; and extending our knowledge as a consequence of our diversity.

Honouring our Retirees

Aligned with the core values set out in the Faculty’s 2011-2016 Strategic Academic Plan, the Staff IMPACT Awards program honours staff whose work and dedication have helped to make the Faculty of Medicine the celebrated school that it is today.

The annual University Operations Staff Achievement Awards Program is being introduced to recognize exceptional staff contributions to the success of the unit, the portfolio and the University. This award is presented to an individual staff member (regardless of length of service),involved in any area of staff work, who has made outstanding contributions that go beyond the ordinary fulfillment of the position’s duties.
